  • *FREE* CodeAcademy has tracks that cover: HTML/CSS, Python, JavaScript, jQuery, Ruby and PHP. They also have projects such Make a Website or an Interactive Website. They also have information to teach you how to use popular APIs.
  •  SkillCrush focuses on teaching women how to code. SkillCrush offers classes in UX Design, HTML/CSS, JavaScript and Ruby. SkillCrush has a  free 10-day bootcamp. Their classes are $175 per class or $149/month for 3 classes.
  • *FREE* Stanford Online’s 6-week Computer Science 101 course taught by Nick Parlante with JavaScript ” is an excellent first step for someone who then wants to take a full programming course.”. If you successfully complete the course you will receive a Statement of Accomplishment.


Web Development and Design Foundations with HTML5 (7th Edition)

I picked up this book to look through the JavaScript & JQuery section (it helped fill in the gaps that I had with CodeAcademy). This book focuses on HTML 5 though and has plenty of different examples for you to walk through as you read the book.
